The exam is designed to test your understanding of mutual fund distribution. It covers a common minimum knowledge standard required for mutual fund distribution. With structured preparation, the official NISM study material, mock tests, and guided training, candidates can prepare for the exam confidently.
The NISM Series V-A exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying 1 mark each. The duration is 2 hours, and candidates must score 50 out of 100 marks (50%) to pass. There is no negative marking, so every question can be attempted.
The NISM Series V-A Certification is valid for three years from the date of passing the examination. To continue distributing mutual funds, the certification must be renewed before expiry.
You can renew your certification before it expires by completing the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programme or by clearing the NISM Series V-A examination again, as per the applicable NISM and AMFI guidelines.
An AMFI Registration Number (ARN) is the registration required to distribute mutual funds in India. After clearing the NISM Series V-A Certification and completing the required registration formalities, eligible candidates can apply for an ARN.

The exam is conducted at a physical exam centre. It is a computer based exam of 100 marks, with a total 100 multiple choice questions, no negative marking and 50% pass percentage.
